(1)Slides directly over pipe end, aligned before welding.
(2)Requires only fillet welds (inside & outside).
2.Lower Cost:
(1)Material cost ~30% less than WN flanges.
(2)Reduced machining complexity.
3.Compact Design:
(1)Shorter assembly length vs. WN flanges.
(2)Saves space in tight layouts.
4.Moderate Pressure Tolerance:
(1)Max pressure: Class 300 (PN40) at room temperature.
(2)Strength decreases significantly at high temperatures.
5.Stress Concentration Risk:
(1)Sudden transition at weld joints causes higher stress.
(2)Unsuitable for cyclic/shock loads.
6.Limited NDT Access:
Internal fillet weld hard to inspect via RT/UT.
