Application scenarios

American standard tube sheet flanges (complying with ASME B16.5 / B16.47) are mainly used for pipeline connections in equipment such as heat exchangers, condensers, and boilers. Typical applications include: petrochemical industry, power industry, pharmaceutical/food industry, and offshore engineering.

Manufacturing Material Standards

Material Standards, Application Scenarios, Temperature Resistance Limits
ASTM A105: General industrial use for carbon steel, -29~425℃
ASTM A182: F304/F316, stainless steel, corrosion-resistant, -196~800℃
ASTM A516 Gr.70: Low-temperature pressure vessels, -46~350℃
Hastelloy C276: Strong acids (such as sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid), -196~400℃

Installation Precautions

Welding Requirements
Welding of Tube Sheet and Flange:
Use GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) for backing + SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) for filling.
After welding, stress relief (PWHT) is required, especially for carbon steel materials.
Sealing Surface Protection: Cover with a protective cover during welding to prevent the sealing surface from being damaged by spatter.
Bolt Tightening
Torque Control (taking Class 150 DN200 as an example):
Bolt Specification: M24 (ASTM A193 B7)
Torque Value: 450 - 500 N·m (tighten in 3 cross - tightening steps)
Gasket Selection: For RF surface: non - metallic gasket (such as graphite); for RTJ surface: metal ring gasket (octagonal/oval)
Thermal Expansion Compensation
The difference in thermal expansion coefficients between the tube sheet and shell materials may lead to leakage. Expansion joints or flexible connections need to be designed.
