Welding Neck Flange | ASME B16.5 WN Flange Supplier & Manufacturer
Brief Product Introduction
ASME B16.5 Weld Neck Flange (WN Flange, WNRF Flange) is an integrally forged flange with a tapered hub. It connects to pipelines by butt welding, achieving full penetration weld. The tapered hub gradually transfers stress to the pipe, greatly lowering stress concentration at the joint. This type of flange is the preferred choice for high-pressure, high-temperature and cyclic load piping systems. It complies with ASME B16.5 standard for NPS 1/2” to 24”, covering pressure classes Class150 to Class2500LB. It is widely used in oil & gas, refinery, power generation, hydrogen, LNG, seawater desalination and chemical process pipelines.
Key Features
Integrally forged blank, free of casting porosity, sand holes and shrinkage defects for critical service
Tapered hub design, excellent fatigue resistance; butt weld joint supports RT radiographic inspection

Quality Control
We implement full-process quality control for every ASME B16.5 Weld Neck Flange. Raw material inspection is carried out before forging, including PMI positive material identification to verify alloy composition. After forging, heat treatment is arranged as required to adjust hardness and eliminate internal stress.
We perform dimensional inspection, visual inspection and NDT non-destructive testing (MT, PT, UT, RT) upon request. All test records are archived. MTC material test certificates, heat treatment reports and inspection reports can be supplied together with goods. Our quality system follows ISO 9001, and we support third-party inspection as required by clients.
Why Choose Us
We are a professional manufacturer and supplier of ASME B16.5 forged WN flanges. We own in-house forging, CNC machining and NDT workshops instead of outsourcing all processes. We have rich experience serving EPC contractors, pipeline distributors and end users worldwide. We can respond quickly to RFQ, provide accurate quotation and technical support for flange selection. Short lead time for standard items. We keep stable raw material supply and stable quality. All products are exported globally, and we welcome factory audit and video inspection.

FAQ:
A1: Welding Neck Flange (WN Flange) is a flange with a tapered hub and full penetration butt weld end. The tapered hub distributes pipeline stress smoothly to the pipe, which makes it suitable for high pressure, high temperature, thermal cycling and vibration piping systems. It is widely used in critical oil, gas, chemical and power process lines.
A2: WN flange uses butt welding, full penetration weld, better stress transfer, suited for high-class high-risk service. Slip On flange is fillet welded externally only, easier for installation but weaker for high pressure and thermal shock. WN flange is the preferred choice for Class600 and above critical joints.
A3: We supply RF (Raised Face), RTJ (Ring Type Joint), M&F (Male & Female), T&G (Tongue & Groove) for WN flanges. RF is the most common general type; RTJ is standard for high-pressure high-temperature hydrocarbon and hydrogen service.
A4: Main standards: ASME B16.5, ASME B16.47 Series A/B, EN 1092-1, DIN. Pressure classes: Class150, 300, 600, 900, 1500, 2500.
A5: Carbon steel A105, A350 LF2; stainless steel 304, 304L, 316, 316L, 321, 310S; duplex 2205, 2507; alloy steel F11/F22/F91; nickel alloys Hastelloy C276, Inconel 600, Monel 400.
A6: Yes. Every batch of our Welding Neck flanges comes with 3.1 MTC. PMI positive material identification, UT, MT, PT, hardness test are available on request.
A7: Yes. Select 316L or 2205 duplex WN flanges for brackish water and seawater service to resist chloride pitting corrosion. Carbon steel and ordinary 304 are not recommended for chloride-rich media.
A8: Yes. We support custom drawing production, special hub length, special bore size, special surface treatment and marking according to your technical drawing.
A9: Oil & gas, refinery, chemical processing, power plant, LNG, offshore marine, seawater desalination, pharmaceutical and food hygienic piping.
A10: Please provide: flange standard, size, pressure class, material grade, sealing face type, quantity and special inspection requirements. We will send you quotation and technical datasheet quickly.
